We in EMS Are always Forgotten Everyone assumes the Fire dept is the ambulance. Not the case in my area, I know some have ambulances But what really ticks me off is why aren't there any EMT, Paramedics recognized in dying at 91. It was all FF or Police. I never heard one thing about medics. thats f**Ked up.

The person who believed that fire wouldn't mind it if we wore a patch, your wrong! There are plenty of the "red Jihad" that believe that our Fire or your crap!
Myself, Ill be pushing up daisies before I wear red for that reason. Im a proud third service paramedics. We wear blue! I dont leave anyones ass hanging, which is more than I can say for the "brothers".
Bottom line, we need our own color. I perfere WHITE, for medicine in general as we are a MEDICAL field as well as public safety...and the good guys always wear white! :)
Bottom line we need another color. If yoru a fire medic and you want to wear red, go ahead. If you a Tactical medic and you want to wear blue, then be my guess. But I have an asterisk (ass to risk) too. And I do every day of duty.
Peace.

And my opinion is we're all on the same team. While I agree, EMS is a separate career field and should have its own color, I have seen both red and blue used to signify EMS in different areas of the world.

From a professional firfighters perspective, the thin BLue Line has always been a represenative of the PD, and the Thin Red Line is a representation of the firefighters that make a living, put food on the table and do not have the option of rolling over and reseting the alarm because it's to scary of a call or etc. The EMS should petition to have a color of there own to represent them, my opinion is I do not where your colors, dont where mine!!!!!

EMS in most areas is seen as akin to the FD. I don't think anyone in the FD would disagree that you should probably wear the Red Line version.
